Not all services available at all Institute locations. All services are performed by supervised students. Services are for ages 6+. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult who is not receiving a service. See full age requirements below.

Service policies, age requirements, and parental supervision guidelines may vary by campus and service. Please contact your local Aveda Arts location with any questions before booking.

Hair Services

• Guests ages 6–12 must be accompanied by an adult who is not receiving a service.
• Seattle Exception: Guests ages 9–12 must be accompanied by an adult who is not receiving a service.
• Nashville Exception: There are no minimum age requirements for hair services other than perm services.
• Hair color services and relaxers are available for guests 13 years and older.
• New York Requirement: All hair color services require a patch test at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. No appointment is necessary for the patch test.
• Seattle Exception: Guests ages 13–17 receiving hair color services must have parent or guardian consent, and a parent or guardian must remain in the building during the service.
• Perm services are available for guests 16 years and older.

Spa Services

• Spa services are available for guests 16 years and older.
• Bikini waxing is available for women only and guests must be 18 years or older.
• Hammond Exception:
  • Guests ages 10–12 must be accompanied by an adult who is not receiving a service.
  • Guests ages 13–15 must have a parent or guardian present on campus during the service.
• SPA DISCLAIMER: Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. Arriving late may interfere with your treatment time and may decrease the therapeutic effects for you. All reservations will end at their scheduled time so as not to delay the next guest. We understand that certain circumstances are unavoidable and may require cancellation. Out of respect for our students & staff’s time, we request a 24-hour notice for any cancellation or reservation change. 

Massage Services (Minneapolis Campus Only)

• Massage services are available for guests 16 years and older.
• Guests under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the required release form, and a parent or guardian must remain on the premises during the service.

Guests Under 18

A parent or legal guardian must remain on campus (or in the building, where required by campus policy) for the duration of the service.

All guests under the age of 18 receiving any service must have a parent or legal guardian sign the required consent waiver before the service is performed.
